Big TV

The Big TV was fabricated when some friends and I started an art and performance group called Little Big Bang in Baltimore, MD. The idea was to make something that would get people away from the TVs in their living rooms and out to see us perform.

It actually became the impetus behind my current work when I discovered how much more I liked it from the inside as architecture than as an object/performance prop. Nevertheless it has been performed with video projection in such diverse venues as the street, backyards, museums, raves and festivals.

In 2001, I made the button people costumes to complement it. Eight people were assigned a different VCR function as a character for a performance at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
